Khan Academy‘s mission is to provide a free world-class education for anyone, anywhere. Sal democratized education by scaling what he learned about tutoring to create Khan Academy which is currently serving 30 million students a month during the pandemic. He started writing code to help track student progress and keep track of their goals. His cousins loved learning by video and could rewind challenging sections.
After realizing that the social aspect of learning can add pressure, he started creating video lessons. While working at a successful hedge fund Sal Khan began tutoring his cousin when he learned she was struggling with math.
